AN INSPIRATIONAL LIFESTORY OF ASIA’S RICHEST WOMAN

Women are considered to be the backbone of every family because they are responsible for supporting the entire family. They handle multiple roles in the form of mother, sister, wife, daughter, friend, & so on. Despite having the capability to handle diverse roles, many women are still reluctant to come forward in society. According to the Forbes survey, India is ranked in the bottom 3 out of 43 countries which indicates the status of women entrepreneurship in India. The main reason that withheld women is the lack of support from their family members along with lack of business skills, access to knowledge about sources of finance & biases. It is not that they lack ambition or ideas, it is the social stigma & lack of inspiration that prevents them from breaking the shackles of society. We all might be aware of the most successful & rich billionaire men but are aware of billionaire women?

The Bloomberg Billionaires Index published recently declared Savitri Jindal as the richest woman in the Asian continent with a net worth of $18 billion. Her life journey from an ordinary woman to a billionaire is indeed a source of inspiration for many upcoming women entrepreneurs in our country. The way she took over her husband’s business after his unexpected demise & built a flourishing business empire was an act of remarkable courage. Born in an Assamese orthodox family, she became the life partner of OP Jindal in 1970 at the age of 20. She became the chairperson of Jindal Group in 2005 after the sudden demise of OP Jindal. Since then, she worked day & night to build the business to its present state. She also left her footprints in politics following the path of her husband. She also does a lot of philanthropic activities which makes her a woman of exceptional character. Her entrepreneurial journey had never been an easy one but she stood against all the odds & achieved success in her life & career.

Savitri Jindal’s life story tells us that neither having a college degree nor having a lot of money can help an entrepreneur to succeed in life. It is the belief in one’s abilities & courage to move forward that helps a person to accomplish any goal in life. Being a housewife & mother of nine children, she efficiently managed her family & the business. Her life journey is a true source of inspiration for many in India who hesitate to come out of their comfort zone & are afraid of social barriers. She proved that nothing can prevent a determined woman from achieving her goal.
